Brave’s Frans Mlambo helps Conor McGregor prepare for Mayweather, predicts sixth-round finish for ‘Notorious’

Irish Featherweight Mlambo also talks about controversial sparring session between his personal friend and Paulie Malinaggi and says he wants to fight again in Bahrain

Brave Combat Federation fighter Frans Mlambo had an inside look into one of the biggest fights of the year: the Irish Bantamweight was a part of Conor McGregor’s camp for his super fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr., set to take place tonight in Las Vegas. A former professional boxer, Mlambo’s contribution came in the form of sparring and he’s optimistic about his friend’s chances against “Money”.

In an exclusive interview with leading MMA website “Combate”, Mlambo predicted that McGregor will finish Mayweather inside six rounds, while also shedding some light on the controversial sparring session between the “Notorious” and former boxing world champion Paulie Malinaggi.

“I’m not much of a betting man, so I don’t know what percentage I would give Conor to win. But the sixth round thing has been stuck in my mind for a while. I really do believe Floyd Mayweather won’t be able to answer the bell for the seventh round. And that’s because of his amazing defensive skills because otherwise, he would be out of the ring much sooner”, claimed Mlambo, who was helping Malinaggi’s corner when the former champ sparred with McGregor and he was less than impressed with his skills.

“I have to say it was an honour meeting Paulie Malinaggi, but I was there helping his corner when he sparred Conor and it was even worse than the videos show. I know there have been some leaks on the sparring session, but those images are somewhat flattering to Paulie because he did a lot worse than what has been leaked”.

While Mlambo has been focusing on helping McGregor prepare for the biggest bout of his life, the Bantamweight has also been eyeing a return to the Brave cage and hopes to fight in November when the promotion returns to Bahrain for International Combat Week.

“There have been some talks about me fighting again in November and it would be an honour to fight in the Kingdom of Bahrain once again. It’s been too long since I’ve fought and I want to come back to the cage as soon as possible”, says Mlambo.
