Two explosive fights added to Brave 2 in December

Brave Combat Federation “Brave 2: Dynasty” on Dec. 2 at Khalifa Sports City in Bahrain is now complete, with the addition of two explosive fights: a light heavyweight bout pitting Ben Forsyth (2-0) against Tyree Fortune (1-0) and a bantamweight feature fight between Gurdarshan Mangat (8-1) and Troy Bantiag (5-4).
The fights join a main event that features a featherweight title fight between Masio Fullen and Alan Omer, while a welterweight fight pitting Gadzhimusa Gaziev (7-1) against Carl “Bomber” Booth (6-1) will serve as the evening’s co-main event.
Fortune is a highly decorated, explosive wrestler who was on the path to the 2016 Olympic Team before making the switch to MMA in 2014. Since then he has been racking-up win-after-win in amateur fights and as we’ve seen many times, he’s finding the transition from wrestler to mixed martial artist a very successful one.
Actually he left wrestling the number two Freestyle heavyweight in the United States, and he wasn’t far off the top of the ladder in Greco wrestling either.
This makes Fortune a huge concern for anyone who faces him, due to his absolutely dominant wrestling ability. Particularly watch out for his double leg take-downs and lateral drop, where he is able to toss large human beings to the ground like they’re rag dolls. If he imposes his game upon Forsyth it could be a long night for the SBG Ireland fighter.
Forsyth has major credentials of his own, and a decorated amateur career, having secured the gold medal at the prestigious IMMAF European World Championships. The IMMAF championships are perceived as the pinnacle of competition for aspiring amateur mixed martial artists. Last year he won the gold medal in the Light Heavyweight category winning all three fights at the tournament and has continued this form in his professional career so far.
In his last fight he defeated Pelu Adetola via unanimous decision, demonstrating some slick counter-striking against a dangerous opponent.
Hailing from India, Mangat is unique in that he trained MMA from the very beginning of his career. Mangat then joined the famed Tristar gym, which produced machines like George St Pierre and Rory McDonald, and there he focused more on his ground skills.
He is currently riding a four fight winning streak and following a hat-trick of Rear Naked Choke wins, he proved in his last fight he can go the distance if necessary, gaining a unanimous decision win over Damen Wood.
Mangat has constantly expressed his desire to reach the pinnacle of the sport and he will continue his journey at Brave 2: Dynasty on December 2nd.
Facing him in the opposite corner is Team Lakay’s Troy Bantiag (5-4). Team Lakay is renowned for being the toughest gym in the Philippines and if you’ve never heard of it, do you remember the Stephan Loman, who dismantled Frans Mlambo over three rounds at Brave 1, with a clinical display of strength and supreme grappling skills? Bantiag enters this fight with a 9 MMA fight experience and a Filipino crowd that is sure to fill up Khalifa Sports City to support him.
Tickets for Brave 2 are on sale now at www.bravefights.com, Virgin Megastore and at all SADAD kiosks throughout Bahrain.
