Alkhasov misses weight for world title fight at Brave 18
The official weigh-ins for Brave 18 brought upon a slight change in the fight card. Flyweight contender Velimurad Alkhasov came in over the division limit of 56,7 kg and he will no longer fight for the inaugural flyweight Brave world title.
His opponent, Marcel Adur, came in at 56,6 kg and can still become the first-ever Brave flyweight champion in case he beats Alkhasov. If the russian powerhouse wins, the title stays vacant and a rematch will most likely be set for the two stars.
In the preliminary card, Luan “Miau” Santiago and Djamil Chan had their fight changed to a catchweight of 74 kg, with both men coming in under the limit, at 73 kg.
In the other two title fights, the four men involved made weight as champions Lucas “Mineiro” (70,1 kg) and Stephen Loman (61,1 kg) will officially defend their belts against Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady (70 kg) and Felipe Efrain (61,3 kg).
The ceremonial weigh-ins are set for later this thursday, at the Khalifa Sports City, where Brave 18 will also be held tomorrow, friday. It will be the last chance for the Brave warriors to face off against their opponents before fight night.
