‘Magic Man’ promises to take over after shocking KO of Cian Cowley at BRAVE 24
One of the biggest moments of BRAVE 24: London, which took place at the Copper Box Arena, in London, last Thursday, was the sensational promotional debut of Maciej Gierszewski. The Polish Lightweight was one of the biggest underdogs of the night coming against muay thai champion Cian Cowley, yet produced one of the most outrageous KO’s in company’s history.
After the first round, where Cowley was dominating with his ferocious leg-kicks, “Magic Man” threw an overhand with his right fist, sending “The Warrior” to the canvas, and following up with two unanswered shots before referee Leon Roberts was able to pull him out.
For Gierszewski, the win breathes new life into the Lightweight division, and he feels that he could take the whole weight-class if given a chance.
“I tell everyone, and everyone who knows me, they know I have dynamite in both hands. It could have been the left one, but this time I connected with a right hand and that was it. I was able to win again by knockout. I know that I can take care of that whole division, I have what it takes to take over. I just need the chance”, asked Gierszewski, who has fought before in heavier divisions.
“This helps me with my chin. I can take a punch from all these Lightweights. I’ve done Middleweight fights, Welterweight fights, and now I am at Lightweight. I’ll have a bit of a vacation now in Poland, then go back to the gym and improve. I will soon be with that belt around my waist”, promised “Magic Man”.
Aside from Gierszewski, BRAVE 24: London produced two other highlight KO’s, as Cameron Else shocked previously undefeated Aidan James in the first minute of their Bantamweight feature bout, while Featherweight champion Bubba Jenkins retained his title in devastating fashion against Lucas “Mineiro” Martins.
