“The Jordanian Lion” Al Silawi backs it up, Submits Carlsson
Jarrah Al Silawi secured a huge submission victory using his favourite technique, the Kimura, to force the tap-out from Erik Carlsson in the second round of a Brave 2: Dynasty main card featured bout.
In a highly competitive first round, Carlsson had some joy in the clinch and secured a takedown, but was unable to hurt Al Silawi or land anything significant, and Al Silawi fought back with devastating body kicks.
In the second round Carlsson tried to take him down, despite Al Silawi’s excellent JiuJitsu and as he landed on top of Silawi in a scramble, he fell right into the trap of Al Silawi. The Jordanian Lion immediately got into his position, grabbed his arm and locked in the Kimura lock which looked nasty and may have caused some damage prior to the Swede tapping.
With that impressive win, Al Silawi improved his professional record to 7-2 with Carlsson falling to 5-2. The Jordanian remains as one of the top prospects in the Middle East and now, with the success of his international debut, secured his spot among Brave’s best welterweight contenders.
