Alkhasov predicts most difficult fight of his career at Brave 14
August 14, 2018
Newly-signed Flyweight contender Velimurad Alkhasov will make his promotional debut at Brave 14, set for The Omnisports Indoor Club, in Tangier, Morocco, on August 18th. Out of action for two years, the Russian fighter feels his bout against Sean Santella will be the most difficult of his young career.
Alkhasov admits the long layoff will be an issue when he steps on the cage for the first time as a Brave fighter and is confiding in his stand-up skills to maintain his impressive undefeated record.
“I haven’t fought in two years. That’s why I think this next fight will be the most difficult and challenging of my career. My opponent has good grappling and wrestling skills. He’s got a chance against me if he takes me down, but my striking is way better than his. He has no chance in the boxing department”, says Alkhasov.
Hailing from Dagestan, a place which has become a hotbed for MMA, Velimurad hopes to make his people proud with yet another dominant performance in his Brave debut.
“People from Dagestan have the spirit of a warrior. We work hard to achieve our goals. I want to prove that I deserve to fight for such a big promotion like Brave and show myself and my fans I’m ready to be champion again”, claims the Russian contender.
Brave 14 will be headlined by a Welterweight bout between Moroccan icon Ottman Azaitar and Serbia’s Danijel Kokora. Also set for Brave’s first trip to Africa is a possible number one contender’s bout at Bantamweight between Felipe Efrain and Arnold Quero and a clash of future Welterweight stars, with Sidney Wheeler and Abdoul Abdouraguimov set to collide.
