Brave 20: John Brewin predicts first-round KO against Mounir
After turning pro this year, New Zealand’s John Brewin already boasts a 4-0 record, with two of those wins coming under the Brave Combat Federation banner. And the Lightweight contender hopes to get yet another victory in the co-main event of Brave 20, when he takes on Anas Siraj Mounir, from Morocco.
Brewin, who has competed at the IMMAF World Championships as an amateur, has made headlines after beating Hardeep Rai and Ahmed Amir at Brave and says he visualizes a KO victory against Mounir in Hyderabad, India, next Saturday (22).
“I always say that any way to win a fight is the right way to win a fight. But I feel that, with the way I’ve been training, I’m going to take a first-round KO against my opponent. I’ve visualized that result in my mind a few times, and even in the training room, so I feel that a first-round KO will be the result on Saturday”, claims Brewin.
Brave 20 is not just an opportunity for John to climb his way up the stacked Lightweight rankings of Brave CF, but also a dream come true for him, who wanted to visit India for a few years.
“This is my third fight this year for Bali MMA, and I’m very excited. I have trained very hard and I’ve been motivated to come here, because India it’s a place I’ve always wanted to visit, but it’s too far away from New Zealand. Brave 20 has provided me with an opportunity to visit India without having to pay a fortune on plane tickets (laughs)”.
Brave 20 will be headlined by a Middleweight clash between prospects Sidney Wheeler and Khamzat Chimaev. Before that, Brewin puts his undefeated record on the line against Anas Siraj Mounir. Also set for fight night is a women’s strawweight clas between Micol di Segni and Maria Ribeiro.
