Brave president reflects on historical year for the promotion: ‘Just the beginning’
Brave Combat Federation will host its last event of 2018, this Friday (28), in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where Jeremy Kennedy takes on Marat Magomedov in the main event. Brave 21 will end an unforgettable year for the promotion, which is firmly positioned as the biggest MMA organization in the Middle East as well as the fastest-growing property in the world of combat sports.
And Brave president Mohammed Shahid has reflected on the twelve events in twelve different countries throughout 2018, which saw Brave landing in Jordan, Brazil, Indonesia, Northern Ireland, Morocco, Colombia, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Bahrain, India, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia.
“When we first started Brave CF we promised that we would be a truly global promotion and that’s what a truly global promotion looks like. Brave is proudly from the Kingdom of Bahrain but happily embraces other cultures, gives local fighters opportunities, and opens many doors in sports, business, and international relations”.
However, Shahid has even more ambitious plans for the year ahead. Before 2018 ends, the promotion has already announced its debut in the Philippines for 2019 and will continue to expand, following the first time a global event landed in the continent of Africa, last August, for Brave 14, in Tangier, Morocco, and the landmark signings of MMA stars Cristiano Marcello, Jeremy Kennedy, and Jose “Shorty” Torres.
“This was an amazing year for us. I don’t think any other promotion in history has done that: 12 events in 12 countries within one year. But it’s just the beginning, it doesn’t make us want to relax, we will go out there, even more aggressively, and build a bigger legacy in 2019”, promised Shahid.
