Chimaev celebrates KO of the night at BRAVE 23 and asks for title shot

Swedish rising star Khamzat Chimaev got the biggest victory of his young career at BRAVE 23: Pride and Honor, when he knocked out previously undefeated Ikram Aliskerov with a violent uppercut. The perfectly-timed KO was elected by BRAVE fans as the best knockout of the night, a feat that took some doing as BRAVE 23 was filled with similar moments as Aidan James, Hashem Arkhagha and Luan Santiago scored equally stunning stoppages.

Fans from all over the world had the option to vote on the promotion’s social media accounts on either of the four best KO’s of the night. Chimaev’s uppercut came out as the winner, and the Welterweight contender feels that it puts him at an advantage to an eventual title shot against newly-crowned world champion Abdoul Abdouraguimov.

“It was an amazing feeling getting that KO over a tough guy like Aliskerov. I hope he’s ok and that he can come back soon. I feel that this has put me as the next contender for the belt. I think BRAVE Nation wants to see me get a title shot. I want to thank BRAVE Nation for the opportunity to perform for them. If anybody deserves to fight for the belt, that person is me. I’m going to put on a show for everyone, and maybe we can even do it in Sweden, who knows!”, said an elated Chimaev after his award-winning performance.

Aside from “Borz”, Luan “Miau” Santiago’s spinning back-fist that knocked out former Lightweight world champion Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady also received a great number of votes. Hashem Arkhagha’s walk-off KO of Jeremy Smith and Aidan James’ counter-attack on Jalal Al Daaja were the other options.

BRAVE 23: Pride and Honor was the biggest event organized by BRAVE Combat Federation, the fastest-rising promotion in the world. The historical show crowned three new champions, with Abdoul Abdouraguimov, Eldar Eldarov and Luan Santiago taking home the world titles for Welterweight, Super Lightweight, and Lightweight, respectively.
