Elias looks to add historic second belt at Brave 22
Elias Boudegzdame can make history on March 15th, as the former Featherweight champion makes his long-awaited comeback at Brave 22. The French-Algerian will officially drop down to Bantamweight to challenge Stephen Loman for the title in the Philippines, home country of his opponent, and he’s looking forward to the opportunity of making history.
In case “Smile” shocks the home crowd and beats Loman, he will become the first-ever Brave “double champ”, with two titles in two different weight classes. In order to do that, however, Boudegzdame will have to take on a fighter known for his wrestling prowess, which was his undoing in his last bout.
The former champ was the co-main event of Brave 16, last September, and looked to become the first-ever Brave titleholder to defend his crown twice in a row. However, he was bested by All-American wrestler Bubba Jenkins in a tough five-round fight, in which he was unable to showcase his submission skills.
As Loman is a similar athlete to Jenkins, Boudegzdame has vowed to make the necessary improvements to shock the Filipino crowd and become the first double champion in promotional history with an unforgettable performance on March 15th.
Brave 22 will be held at the iconic Mall of Asia Arena, in Manila, and will showcase some of Brave’s biggest international stars against top local talent as the promotion starts 2019 with a bang after a historical last year, in which Brave visited 12 different countries throughout the calendar year.
