Paulo da Silva says TKO loss to Martínez wasn’t ‘real’; watch full fight
After pulling out of the Brave 3: Battle in Brazil main event with an injury, veteran Paulo “Bananada” da Silva made his promotional debut at Brave 5: Go For Glory. However, his first Brave fight ended in controversy, with a TKO loss to Alejandro “Pato” Martínez, which let him complaining about the stoppage.
And while he’s moved on from the fight, his first loss inside the Brave cage still bothers the Brazilian, who used the promotion’s social media platform to complain about the result. In Silva’s opinion, the referee was wrong to stop the fight when he did and claimed Martínez’s win wasn’t “real”.
“TKO win for Alejandro? But the referee won this fight! Not him. Alejandro “Pato” did not win this fight”, claimed “Bananada”, who trains with the likes of Anderson Silva and Ronaldo “Jacaré” Souza at X-Gym, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Alejandro, meanwhile, is a former The Ultimate Fighter contestant and his win over Silva is only his second professional victory in MMA. After his Brave debut, the Mexican Lightweight and Featherweight fighter called out Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady.
