Boudegzdame scores first round submission over Watson

Elias Boudegzdame scored a sensational first round stoppage over Walel Watson, via submission with a Kimura, in the biggest victory of his career.

The smiling Algerian-Frenchman came out confidently and aggressively, landing some right hands which backed up the American and surprised him as he was forced to fight going backwards.

Elias continued to press the action and stalk his opponent, then secured a brilliant takedown and immediately went to work on Walel’s arm. Once he gained top position he was clinical in the finish as he trapped Walel effortlessly in the Kimura lock and forced the tap-out.

This victory takes Boudegzdame to 13-4 and while Walel Watson falls to 13-9. Surely this win shuffles the cards to whom may be the next title contender in the featherweight division.
